In the context of border confrontation and escalating tensions, China and India are actively fighting for Nepal. Nepal is launching a new railway network plan to revitalize the national economy. Nepal had only one railway line connecting the south of India, but it was suspended in 2014. The new plan for the construction of Nepal's rail network includes three lines. India has funded the rehabilitation of Southern disrepair outage of the existing line and planned to take the line access India railway network. Besides, China has funded the construction of lines and planned to build a new line to Nepal. The rail link between the Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, and Tibet. It has entered a phase of the feasibility study. The total cost of the railway is $8 billion. “The completion of the railway will change the geopolitical outlook in Nepal,” says Ankit Panda, who is a senior editor from American diplomatic scholar. “China knows that it's wise to waving Checkbook diplomacy with Nepal. China pledged massive financial support is quite impossible to India.”

As the disparity in strength makes India wary of everything, according to the Times of India reported that the Survey of India has passed a proposal about inviting Nepal to retest the height of Mount Everest. But in the current situation of China and India border confrontation, Nepal has not responded.

Reported that, in order to respond to the international scientific community, which has questioned that the earthquake in 2015 may have changed the height of Mount Everest, the Survey of India launched a plan about retest the height of Mount Everest with Nepal. This plan is also to commemorate the establishment of Survey of India 250th anniversary. Now three months have passed, and the Survey of India is still waiting for Nepal's agreement. Mr. Swarna Subba Rao, who is the proposal makers, said that Nepal has its own considerations. When tensions are between the two giants, Nepal will try to avoid being allied with India on any project."

But the fact that Mount Everest located in the China and Nepal border is the main peak of the Himalaya Mountains, located in the China and Nepal border, rather than India. The north of Mount Everest is in Tibet, Tingri County and the south of Mount Everest is in Nepal. The peak located in China is the world's highest peak.

The height of Mount Everest controversy in history:

1 In 1852, the Survey of India measured the height of Mount Everest by 8840 meters.

2 In 1852, a survey team which headed by the British leader measured the height of Mount Everest by 8840 meters on the India plain.  It’s the first time to claim Mount Everest is the world's highest peak.

3 In 1949, Clark, who is from the United States, measured A’nyêmaqên Mountains is 193 meters higher than Mount Everest by traditional methods. He said Mount Everest was not the highest peak in the world. Later it was overturned after verification.

4 In 1954, India geographers measured the locations on the south side of the Mount Everest as a result of an elevation of 8848 meters. So far, Nepal has claimed that the height of Mount Everest is 8848 meters above sea level.

5 In 1975, China first set up 3.5 meters of the tower in the Mount Everest, through the 6 mapping point of 6000 meters above, finally measured the height of Mount Everest by 8848.13 meters. It was selected as a hundred years' discovery of Chinese Geography by China's National Geographic magazine.

6 In 1992, the United States and Italy used GPS with distance measuring instruments remeasure the elevation of Mount Everest. Dehio provided data of 8846.10 meters, less than 2.03 meters of data provided by China.

7 In 1999, the USA National Geographic Society measured Mount Everest by the Global Positioning System. After analyzing the measurements, University of Colorado Boulder calculated the elevation of the Mount Everest at 8850 meters.

8 In 2005, China officially announced the new data obtained for the elevation of Mount Everest is 8844.43 meters, which measured by applying 3S and modern geophysical technology. It is recognized by UNESCO and most of the nations in the world. The altitude data of Mount Everest which is released in 1975 will not use anymore.

As we know, as the earthquake happened in Nepal in 2015, Zhangmu border which connected Nepal and Tibet has still been closed to foreigners. If you want to go for an Everest tour in Tibet, you can take the flight from Kathmandu. But in the future, when the rail link has built between the Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, and Tibet, you can take the train from Kathmandu to enter Tibet. It sounds like a good news
